Goat Project:
WCFJC is pleased to partner with the Department of Women and Gender Studies, George Mason University. In December 2008, the department held a fundraising drive that raised $750 for the purchase of goats. We are grateful for their generosity and look forward to growing this relationship.

WCFJC secured an internship for Betty Kakuba, Chairperson of Mwesigwa Women’s Group. Betty will undergo four weeks of hands-on training at a salon in nearby Jinja Town. In turn, Betty will train other members of her community group to carry out additional salon activities.
In December WCFJC also purchased two second-hand wedding dresses for the hair salon project. The dresses will enable Mwesigwa Women’s Group to offer bridal services in addition to their existing services. December’s figures came in high owing to the festivities associated with Christmas as well as the new bridal services being offered.
