Bulondo Goats

The group currently collects a monthly payment from each player which goes into a group loan fund

  • Community Group

    Bulondo Nakakulwe Community Group
  • Number of Members

    20
  • Group Objective

To generate funds for low interest development loans to group members
  • Project Brief

The group currently collects a monthly payment from each player which goes into a group loan fund. Additional income is drawn from goat-rearing and the sale of fruits and vegetables grown in each group member's garden.

    Annual revenue
    US$ 550

    Support
The group seeks support for the purchase of several group goats and the purchase of land. Group land will allow the group to hold all group goats at a single location. Currently, each group goat is allocated to a group member, who rears the goat at her home. The purchase of land will also facilitate the large scale farming of fruits and vegetables, in contrast to the group's current practice where each group member uses a section of their personal plot of land to grow group produce.

    Projected Increase in Annual Revenue
Annual revenue should increase to US$ 4,500. Gains in revenue will be used for:
    • Payment to WCFJC for value-adding resources
    • Re-investment in and expansion of the poultry project
    • Purchase of land for the group
    • Launch of other income-generating initiatives e.g. commercial farming of fruits and vegetables

    Projected Budget for First 12 Months - US$ 17,686
